Casino Royale

The latest James Bond, played by Daniel Craig, has quite a bit more depth than previous installments. With a female boss and a smarter, more dynamic “Bond Girl” who is actually a true love interest, to a certain degree, this Bond seems to have come down to earth.

The Departed

Although “The Departed” does not have the emotional depth of other Martin Scorsese films, such as “Taxi Driver” or “Raging Bull,” it is an entertaining two-hour journey into the underworld with high-speed action, superb acting, and delicious dialogue.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center

One of my favorite institutions in New York, The Film Society of Lincoln Center, was founded in 1969 and celebrates American as well as international cinema.

The War Tapes

Even though “The War Tapes” is not easy to watch, I think every American should be required to see it. The film does not put forth an opinion about the war in Iraq; however, it does something much more innovative and powerful. It actually takes you there through the video cameras of three New Hampshire National Guardsmen.

The Devil Wears Prada

"The Devil Wears Prada" is a story that has been told before, but a tight script and compelling performances by Anne Hathaway and the amazingly talented Meryl Streep make it a lot of fun to watch.
